One-way ANOVA in Excel

SCENARIO - Consider the productive hours plotted for employees served with different drinks. Data is as shown in Excel

Under the Data Ribbon, select Data Analysis

In the dialog box, select Anova: Single Factor and click OK

Select the Input Range, check mark Labels in first row, set Alpha value(default = 0.05) and select the Output location(Location within the sheet in this example) and click OK

Output for the given Dataset in this example:

CONCLUSION:
  • When F > F crit => P-value < 0.05, then the NULL hypothesis is rejected
  • Implies that the Means calculated for each level are not equal
